Sir Keir Starmer plans to press partner nations to deliver Ukrainian forces with additional extended-range weaponry to target enemy locations during discussions in Britain on the upcoming Friday.

Britain's leader will host President Volodymyr Zelensky alongside what's known as "group of committed partners", consisting of more than 20 of Kyiv's partners who have agreed to grant the Ukrainian government defense assurances once a ceasefire is negotiated.

Ukraine's president has been appealing for an extended period for more advanced missile technology from Western nations, a step that Russia has stated would escalate the war.

President Zelensky is journeying from Belgium, where he held talks with EU leaders on the previous day pursuing economic assistance.

"The only person engaged in current hostilities who does not want to stop the fighting is the Russian leader," the Prime Minister remarked.

Sir Keir will also declare that a hundred extra air defence missiles will be delivered to Ukrainian forces sooner than scheduled, as detailed in a £1.6bn deal reached between the UK and the Ukrainian government in spring.

International Support

Zelensky comes following two diplomatic wins this week: Washington's action to enact additional restrictions against Moscow, and EU nations agreeing to finance Kyiv's budgetary shortfall.

The Prime Minister is hoping to maintain the forward movement by intensifying the influence on Moscow to negotiate a conclusion to the conflict.

The Prime Minister will urge participants to expand the supply of extended-range systems following an effective strike on a chemical plant in the Bryansk region, Russia, using UK-provided advanced weaponry.

"Additionally, his depraved strikes on small children in a nursery recently demonstrate that perfectly obvious," he added.

Two children were among no fewer than seven killed in multiple enemy assaults on Ukrainian territory, which struck a nursery in the important metropolitan area Kharkiv.

Financial Discussions

Britain's leader will discuss with supporting countries on how to withdraw Russian oil and gas off the global market.

Delegates will also consider employing blocked Russian resources to provide the Ukrainian government with economic assistance, although the plan encountered a lack of political consensus and jurisdictional challenges at the European meeting on yesterday.

European Union opted against approving an initiative to employ up to €140bn in frozen Russian assets to financially prop up Kyiv's finances.

However, the leaders consented to assist with Ukraine's "economic requirements" for the coming 24 months.

America also revealed sanctions on Wednesday against Moscow's biggest petroleum firms, Rosneft Oil and Lukoil Corporation, as part of efforts to add economic pressure on the Kremlin to begin ceasefire negotiations.

Russia began its major offensive of the country in February 2022. It currently occupies about 20% of Ukrainian territory, including the Crimean peninsula the Russian government annexed in the year 2014.
